About Inopsys | Industrial Water Treatment Experts

why we do what we do.

At Inopsys, we believe in chemistry with a conscience. The chemical and pharmaceutical industries bring life-saving innovations to the world - but behind every breakthrough, complex side streams emerge: water flows rich in toxic organics, metals, and APIs. Too often, these streams are shipped off for incineration.

While global water scarcity and environmental degradation are real threats, these valuable resources are going up in smoke, while those very side streams could be recycled and repurposed.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

our mission: circular chemistry for a better world.

We’re here to challenge the status quo and redefine what’s possible. At InOpSys, we transform side streams into circular resources.

Our goal is simple: to make sustainable side stream treatment not just viable, but the obvious choice. Our commitment is to ensure that side streams no longer get regarded as waste, but as a product that deserves a new life.

Through smart, science-driven solutions, we help companies reduce environmental impact without compromising performance. Because for us, “waste” is just a resource waiting to be unlocked. We believe in circular chemistry for a better world.

what we stand for.

  • Transparency you can trust
  • Reliability you can count on
  • Service that goes beyond expectation

And at our core? A team powered by innovation, optimism, and personal growth.

Jan Jacobs

CFO

Jan is CFO of Inopsys and so, the great financial wonder in Inopsys’ management since June 2021. As he says himself, finance is his passion and we can only confirm that! We even suspect that the monthly reports hang above his bed.

His story started in South Africa, where Jan was born. Ever since he lived in several places like the United States, Paris, Scotland, Germany and Switzerland. The time spent in Belgium, he spent very well by getting his Master degree in Business Economics and Master after master in Finance & Tax, both at the University of Antwerp. Later on, Jan graduated from International General Management at Vlerick Business School. He worked for more than 25 years in different finance positions in international companies like Ricoh, Sumitomo, Bakkavör Foods and Alken-Maes. During his 4-years stay in Germany and Switzerland he worked for Sulzer and Spector Photo Group.

Besides being a man of the (financial) world, Jan is also a man of sports. So he likes hiking or skiing in the mountains on a vacation, and training his run-, bike- ànd swim skills to achieve a half triathlon. Other, more relaxing time, he likes to spend with friends and family in a nice restaurant enjoying a glass of wine or admire a nice piece of contemporary art.
